Maria Kivijärvi is a young Art & Design student from Finland.
In Maria’s own words, ‘despite the recent trend for functional and innovative design in kitchen utensils and tableware, the basic idea of the cake server had not changed in a long time. For this design, I was deliberately searching for a completely new functionality and appearance for the cake server’.
The design first saw the light of day, at the Paulig’s Tahto & Taito Will & Skill competition for young and talented designers, where her utterly unique cake server won the public vote.
The color version of the Magisso cake server is being introduced to North America this spring. It offers practical design and functionality at a very affordable price. It comes in 4 color variants for the summer; Black, White, Lime and Purple. This is sure to be a hit at outdoor summer gatherings.

cake server
Made of high quality mirrored Stainless Steel, the Magisso cake server is a modern classic. The cake server is built from a single piece of stainless steel, which is cut and bent to give it this unique design.
Style meets function in this unique object that simplifies the task of cutting and moving a piece of cake in one action. By pressing down on the cake with the Magisso cake server, you can cut a perfect piece of cake. By lightly squeezing the handle, you can lift the piece of cake, then release it on your guest’s plate.
